Work from home accessories: Review of the Mujjo laptop sleeve

These days, whether you work mostly from home or not, you will almost certainly own your own laptop or device of some sort and that means transporting said device when you head out. So The Homeworker has been testing a laptop case by emerging Dutch designer, Mujjo and I’ve written my review of the laptop sleeve below.

As a homeworker, I don’t always work from home. In fact, I often opt to work outside the home, from cafés, libraries, co-working spaces or even the park on a sunny day. I also have to attend meetings and interviews and am pulling out the laptop to show people the magazine on a regular basis.

When it comes to my work, my world is on my laptop and protecting it is a priority. I’ve been transporting my MacBook Pro in this laptop sleeve to see if its perfect form is matched with functionality.

I have a couple of laptop bags that I like to use but now and again, I don’t want a large bag, I just want to slip my laptop into a case and take it with me, or slip it into another bag that’s more suitable for where I’m going.

So, when Mujjo asked if I’d like to try out and review their new laptop sleeves, I jumped at the chance. I’d seen their products online and was keen to see if they live up to the sleek images on their site and whether there is as much substance as there is style.

Representing you and your brand

A laptop sleeve might seem like a fairly mundane object; it needs to be practical and functional but if you’re out and about, representing you, your brand, your business, and even presenting to potential clients or speaking with customers, then it also needs to look smart.

What I like about this Mujjo sleeve is the first impression is one of simple sophistication. When it comes to aesthetics, the Mujjo sleeve is like the good-looking friend that stands quietly in the background. It doesn’t shout about how cool it is, but you instantly know it’s a quality piece with designer threads.

Review of the Mujjo laptop sleeve

Durability: The sleeve has a beautiful, thick felt body complete with contrasting tan leather closing flap. The outer is surprisingly robust and durable. Even when I got caught in a quick shower, I found the felt to be water repellent.

It feels tough yet soft and flexible, the perfect combination for cushioning your device.

Space and size: There is ample room for my 15″ MacBook Pro with an extra pocket for a slim notebook, pen and a phone.

It is an ideal all-in-one pouch that protects your laptop without compromising in the looks department.

Design: The design has clearly been front of mind; your laptop touches nothing but soft felt and the attention to detail from the materials to the stitching is noticeable.

When you consider what sort of a battering a laptop sleeve might get, I’m very appreciative of the quality craftsmanship.

The colour palette is also neutral and has universal appeal. There are options in plain black as well.

If a laptop sleeve could be a thing of beauty, this would certainly be it. You get designer looks and quality and can take a little bit of luxury with you everytime you head out. You can take a look at all of their sleeves and phone cases here.
