dining desk home office item

Working from home requires a productive set up that allows you to work in comfort, free of pain, and in a way that doesn’t encroach on the rest of the home outside working hours. As such, we look over some of the most useful and innovative home office products we have seen. Some our past products we have tried, tested and still recommend and there are a few other items we think coud enhance your work from home lifestyle.

The Dining Desk

When we first saw this invention, we thought it was a really clever design. The dining desk allows you to work from home when you have limited space and not a dedicated home office. It uniquely converts from a standard dining table to a work desk with an adjustable monitor stand and electric-powered sit-stand options.

We love the elegant design, the hidden cabling, and how the beautiful solid oak timber can work in any interior. This is one of the most versatile, smart, and efficient pieces of furniture for your home. An ergonomic desk that is both practical and beautiful.

etalon posture correcting bra, work from home recommendations
Etalon posture-correcting bra

The Posture Bra

A posture corrector is designed to help keep your body in the correct alignment to ease pain and discomfort. It is common to suffer from a slumped neck and rounded shoulders if you do a lot of desk working. A posture device can help hold you in a more comfortable position.

The Etalon posture bra has been one of the better posture-correcting devices we have tried. It feels robust and provides some resistance compared to others that have not felt much different to a normal vest. You can feel your muscles engaging as the vest attempts to keep you in alignment. The straps are adjustable and you can wear it underneath anything not too light and strappy. Be mindful that in order to improve your posture longterm, you need to strengthen the muscles and perform strengthening exercises so you are not reliant on a posture device.
As it is a bra, it is designed for women, but we also like the look of the anatomically-designed posture shirt.

The Studybed transforming from bed to desk.

The Studybed

Another recommendation for convertible and versatile furniture for working from home is the ingenious StudyBed. From a bed to a fully functional work desk in seconds, it is ideal for a guest room or when space is at a premium.

We love that you don’t need to clear the desk and can keep the bed made so you can change the function with little hassle. It comes in a range of finishes and different designs. Find out more here.

Review Rollermouse Pro for The Homeworker
Rollermouse Pro ergonomic mouse

Ergonomic Mouse

We reviewed The Rollermouse Pro and still love this ergonomic design that helps to keep your posture secure without the need for over stretching. It can help minimise discomfort caused by repetitive strain injury that can come from using a standard mouse.

The Rollermouse Pro keeps your mouse in front of your keyboard with all the scrolling and clicking functions you need within a more compact space so you can work comfortably with minimal movement.

With a hand rest, bluetooth functionality and customisable sensitivity, this is an ergonomic mouse that comes in a variety of designs and sizes.

Desk Treadmill

Keeping fit while you work seems like a perfect solution for busy professionals. If you work from home, a desk treadmill could be your answer to getting in your daily walk on those wet, wintry days or when your workload prohibits a long break.

Of course, we would always advocate fresh air and a decent screen break but if you want to increase your step count, putting a treadmill under your desk means you can stay active while also catching up on your emails or listening into a call. Many people find they get their best ideas while walking and by adding movement while you work can help you stay alert and prevent pain from prolonged sitting.

Foot Rest

This comfortable foot rest is a great option to help keep your posture correctly aligned while sat at your desk. It is a lovely soft design that means you can stay cosy in your socks, and by flipping it over, you can use it as a rocker to keep your feet and lower legs moving. They have taller models if you have shorter legs and need more height. This is a simple supportive foot rest and a useful product for any homeworker.
